Board hears reading and graduation gains, uneven math progress in district report

The report noted eighth-grade math trends have been uneven, with some years of improvement and some dips. Staff described a high 9th-grade on-track percentage (98%) and a 4-year graduation rate of 93% (a reported increase from a baseline 65% figure), and said they are working with ODS to produce parent-facing reports by fall so families can better understand performance context and targets.
Board members asked how they should evaluate progress; staff said they will provide target benchmarks and comparative data from the ESD to give the board context and to support oversight.
