District curriculum staff presented recommended adoptions for next school year: Discovery Education for high-school science and The Great Body Shop for K–5 health instruction. Staff highlighted the online platform’s differentiation tools, Spanish translation toggle and annual content updates as advantages for science instruction.
For health curriculum, staff recommended a K–5 adoption of The Great Body Shop and a comprehensive middle/high-school program approved for middle school but requiring an independent adoption for high school. Staff said the vendor has already updated the online language to address state reviewer concerns and that the district will make materials available for a one-month public review and solicit parent feedback before a formal June adoption vote.
Quote: "So the team is, feeling good about, recommending Discovery Education," the presenter said, describing the online platform’s interactive and updatable features.
