Board of Appeals unanimously approves 30‑day extension to issue two decisions

During the Aug. 15 meeting staff member Mr. Sanders requested an additional 30 days to issue decisions and orders in two pending matters, citing complex legal issues that needed more time to address. "These were complex matters with significant legal issues that were raised in the cases and they need to be addressed in the decision in order," Sanders said, and asked the Board to vote on the extension.
Chair Gene Ryan moved to extend the decision deadlines by 30 days for the Maryland International School case and the Alejandro Rodriguez case. The motion was seconded and carried on a roll call vote with all present voting yes. Chair Ryan announced, "Motion carries 30 day extension." The staff noted the revised schedule: one decision that had been due the coming Monday would instead be issued in late September, and the other likewise extended to the end of September.
