ALJ affirms summary suspension of Sierra Nevada Builders after respondent declines to oppose

An administrative law judge affirmed a summary suspension of Sierra Nevada Builders’ license during a State Contractors Board disciplinary hearing on March 25, 2026.
Administrative Law Judge Noah Allison stated, "Good cause appearing the ALJ AFFIRMS the Summary Suspension so the Board may move forward with disciplinary action as is anticipated." The action followed sworn testimony from the respondent’s manager, Bryan Scott Slavik, who "did not" object to the suspension and "agreed that the only update in the file was the bankruptcy notification." The cases listed were Nos. 30069177, 30069531, 30069533, 30069755, 30069792, 30069794 and 30069820.
Board counsel and investigators appeared and presented evidence for the record. Exhibits admitted in the proceeding included the Notice of Hearing and Order of Summary Suspension, all Board exhibits, the Respondent's Answer and the Respondent's bankruptcy filing information. The ALJ concluded the matter at that point and indicated no further on-the-record action was required during that session.
The Board’s Executive Officer David Behar had opened the meeting and confirmed public notice compliance. The next procedural steps for the disciplinary case were not specified in the minutes beyond allowing the Board to "move forward with disciplinary action" per the ALJ’s affirmation.
