At a public hearing on April 14, the Fillmore City Council approved a set of zone changes covering six parcels on motions that passed unanimously. The changes reclassify parcels F-7000, F-7000-4 and F-6999-3 to Highway Commercial and Light Industrial, and reclassify parcels F-7054, F-47 and F-7055 to Residential 2; the Millard School District’s four-acre parcel was explicitly excluded from the rezone.
During the hearing resident Kris Ewart asked, "what quasi-public zone means," and council members explained that the designation allows government and public facilities such as schools, city buildings and churches. The motion to adopt the zone changes was moved by Councilmember Winget, seconded by Councilmember Alldredge, and recorded as unanimous.
