Fillmore City Council adopts $9.65 million operating budget for fiscal year 2026–27

The Fillmore City Council unanimously approved Resolution 26-13 on June 23 to adopt the FY2026–27 operating budgets, setting total operating funds at $9,645,010 and an adopted certified tax rate of 0.000466. Mayor Curt Hare told the council the only change from the tentative budget was "a $16,700 dollar increase for establishment of a new code enforcement officer position," and that Delta City had expressed interest in sharing the position's cost.
Council members also approved a 4% cost-of-living increase for all non-elected city employees as part of the adopted budget package. The motion to adopt the resolution passed on a roll-call vote with Councilmembers Larsen, Winget, Rausch, Alldredge and Stevens all voting yes. The council will hold future public engagement and an open house to explain fire-station financing and other budget items to residents.
