The county commission authorized a motion to accept the verbally described terms of an updated water contract and to permit a county official to sign on the county's behalf once the written contract matches those terms.
The Chair reported the bureau had not yet emailed the updated contract but said the bureau had shared that “there's not gonna be any interruption to the water supply ... in Dutch John, and we do have an agreement, verbally,” and commissioners discussed how to proceed while awaiting the written document. Committee member (S4) proposed the motion: “I would would suggest that 1 of you make a motion to accept the terms of the contract as orally stated on the record earlier today and authorize ... Matt to sign it on behalf of the county conditioned on the the terms of the written contract meeting the same terms as discussed today in in open meeting.”
Committee member (S2) moved the proposal. The Chair announced a motion and a second by commissioners identified in the record as “commissioner AC” and “commissioner Lytle.” Two commissioners then recorded their votes as “Aye,” and the Chair said the matter will be finalized once the bureau provides the written contract. The commission discussed logistics for attestation; the earlier form included signature lines for Kent, the Chair, and an attestation line for Lorinda. Committee member (S4) said he would look for the emailed contract, e-sign it, and email it to Lorinda and others, and expected to be able to sign before Monday.
The action authorizes signing subject to the condition that the written contract reflects the same terms stated on the record. The commission did not receive the updated contract during the meeting and did not call a special meeting; commissioners said they would proceed to sign when the written document arrives.
