Faculty Senate update: OER grants, fellowship and teaching awards highlighted

She highlighted Open Educational Resources (OER) grants'for example, a Level 1 grant for developmental psychology saving students about $80 each and a Level 2 grant for art appreciation saving approximately $230 per student'and noted increased enrollment in the Art Appreciation course.
Karl also reported that four history professors, including herself, had been accepted into the Great Questions Foundation two-year fellowship aimed at discussion-based learning, with sessions previously held in Austin (Nov. 2025) and an upcoming session in Rochester, NY, in June 2026. She announced Innovation in Teaching Award winners (including Karl and Elise McCauley) and identified Dr. Rachel Cockrell as the upcoming Faculty Senate President.
