Board approves changes to employee tuition-waiver policy to include remedial courses

The Board voted to revise Policy 606 so that the 50% tuition waiver for employees and their dependents may include zero-level or remedial courses when those courses are required for degree completion. President Jena Marr presented the proposed change explaining the previous policy had excluded such courses.
Dr. David Von Tungeln made the motion and Regent Lori Burns seconded; the motion passed with all six voting Regents recorded in favor. The change is intended to remove a barrier for employees and dependents who need remedial coursework to complete programs.
