The Tucker Management Committee voted Feb. 9 to hire archaeologist Charles Knight to carry out an Archeological Phase 1 study for the proposed trail. The committee approved the engagement at a quoted cost of $3,731; committee members said the RPT grant will cover 80% of that expense.
Steve Gale moved to approve engaging Charles Knight for the Archeological Phase 1 study, and Kathy Damon seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The committee framed the study as a necessary step for the Bridge & APT project before trail construction moves forward. Committee members said they expect the Phase 1 work to inform the RFP and subsequent construction schedule.
