Yarchick said the city requested bids for a large solid‑waste removal project at the wastewater plant; two bids were submitted and he expects the final cost to be in the $22,000–$25,000 range, which is lower than an earlier projection of about $40,000. If additional funds are available, he suggested replacing trickling‑filter media that has been in place for roughly 20 years.
Yarchick said he plans to schedule contractors once bids close and that plant staff are preparing to install a meter and change some customer meters. "I think it's the 15th maybe through the 20th," Yarchick said of upcoming contractor scheduling for pump‑out work. Councilors noted that large projects not budgeted may require supplemental budget action or a loan.
