Between July and November 2010 the Nemaha County Board of Equalization approved a series of motor-vehicle tax-exemption applications for local nonprofit and religious organizations.
On July 22, the board approved a Form 457 motor-vehicle tax-exemption for the Peru State College Foundation after Treasurer Pat Holtzman presented the application. At the August 11 meeting the board approved exemptions for Auburn Christian Church (2005 Ford van), First United Methodist Church (1990 Ford van), and St. Clara Catholic Church (2000 and 2001 Chevrolet vans). At the November 24 meeting the board granted exemptions for Hearts United for Animals for a 2005 Chevrolet pickup and a 2006 Chevrolet van. Each exemption was approved by motion and roll-call vote as recorded in the minutes.
The minutes document the specific vehicle model years and organizations; organizations granted exemptions should retain the board minutes as the official record for property-tax-exempt status of the identified vehicles.
