Streetscape clears NEPA; board flags deteriorating water main before sidewalk work

Town staff told the Selectboard that the Streetscape Project has finally cleared NEPA, which keeps potential NW Regional Commission funding viable and eligible for a time extension.
During the Streetscape discussion, Selectboard members raised concerns about a deteriorating main water line in the zone near the center cemetery. Mark Brouillette recommended the Main Line be replaced before any sidewalk installation proceeds so the street work does not have to be dismantled later.
The minutes note that NEPA clearance allows the town to continue pursuing regional funding but that coordination with water-main replacement and easement status will be necessary to sequence work and reduce duplication of expense.
