The Veneta City Council adopted two resolutions on April 13 updating compensation schedules ahead of the 2026-27 fiscal year. Resolution No. 1476 establishes the compensation plan for regular full-time positions; Resolution No. 1477 updates temporary and seasonal hourly rates to reflect Oregon's upcoming minimum wage increase and preserves internal pay parity.
City Recorder Jennifer Mirabile explained staff corrected the compensation schedule and proposed a 50-cent hourly increase for listed temporary and seasonal positions to avoid pay compression after the state minimum wage rises to an expected $15.55 on July 1, 2026. "Staff proposed to increase by 50 cents the hourly rate for each position listed on the compensation plan to retain wage rate parity between positions and avoid compression as a result of minimum wage increases," Mirabile said. Both resolutions passed on unanimous 5-0 votes.
