The Northlake Town Council voted unanimously to approve a year‑end ordinance amending the adopted budget to reconcile unanticipated spending and incoming revenues. Town staff outlined transfers and adjustments that close out the fiscal year and set up projects and studies for the coming year.
"We're gonna move a $110,000 to get that study started here, right here at the end of this year and rolling into next year," John told the council, referring to an Americans with Disabilities Act compliance study. John also identified a $1,100,000 allocation for Canyon Falls trailer wall repair and said a $1,500,000 increase in budgeted water and wastewater revenue reflects a reimbursement from the Trinity River Authority.
Councilmembers asked clarifying questions about fund balance impacts, the police asset forfeiture decrease and shared interceptor payments with the neighboring city of Justin. Mayor Monti called for a motion; the mayor announced the motion carried unanimously after a second.
The amendment moved several internal transfers (procurement software, street maintenance equipment, sewer haul‑off costs and the reuse of cellular meter project savings), and staff said the adjustments were intended to tidy up the accounts at fiscal‑year end.
