The Milbank City Council met in special session on January 27, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in the Milbank Visitor Center. Mayor Pat Raffety presided; council members Roger Briggs, Mindy Rogers, Josh Karels and Craig Weinberg (via Zoom) were present. Absent were Mike Hanson and John Weyh. Staff present included Darin Thiele, Administrator Steve Pendergrass, Finance Officer Cynthia Schumacher, Boyd VanVooren and Corey Hooth.
During the session the council recorded and approved several motions: acceptance of the resignation of Utility Clerk Laurie Folk effective Jan. 15, 2025 (motion carried 4-0); authorization of payment for the 2025 tractor lease to John Deere Financial for $25,944.73 (motion carried 4-0); approval of surveillance project specifications with requested modifications and authorization to call for bids (motion carried 4-0). The meeting adjourned and the council noted the next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 10, 2025.
