Nemaha County authorizes mailing of 557 valuation-change notices after clerical processing error

Assessor Jana Smith told the board a recalculation step had not processed correctly, and provided the board with a long list of parcel numbers to be notified; the board voted to authorize mailing the notices to affected property owners.
The minutes list the parcel numbers (a set of 557 parcel IDs appears in the record) and show the board’s unanimous vote to instruct assessor staff to proceed with mailings. The action was recorded as a ministerial step to correct the county’s tax-notice process; the board asked the assessor and clerk to ensure proper documentation and follow-up were completed.
