Tanya Cinco briefed the board on the district’s integrated programs, explaining that the funding is a compilation of several state grants and that building teams and stakeholders completed a survey and data review this school year.
She outlined recommended allocations that would keep current grant‑funded positions in place: two academic counselors paid through high school success funds, social‑emotional counselors and pre‑K paraprofessionals supported through the Student Investment Account, and early literacy materials and staffing to support ages 3 through grade 3. Cinco said the final district grant application will be brought to the board for approval on March 12 and submitted by April 1 if the board approves the recommendation.
Cinco told trustees that building teams used empathy interviews and survey analysis to identify attendance, social‑emotional learning, behavior barriers and gaps in foundational skills as persistent needs; principals and teams will finalize building plans and return recommendations to the superintendent.
