Vernonia board adopts six district policies after second reading

At its May 8 meeting the board approved six district policies presented for second reading, moving policies IGDJ, IMB, IGBHE, IKF, IK and JEA into effect as approved.
The Vernonia School District Board approved a package of district policies presented for second reading at the May 8 meeting.
The policies approved on second reading were: IGDJ (Interscholastic Activities), IMB (District Improvement Program), IGBHE (Expanded Options Program), IKF (Graduation Requirements), IK (Academic Achievement), and JEA (Compulsory Attendance). The motion to approve these policies was made by Javoss McGuire and seconded by Stacey Pelster; the motion passed unanimously with those in attendance.
Several additional policies were presented for first reading (IGBHD, JGAB, JGE, JHC, KBA, KBA-AR, KL) and the board asked members to review them and bring questions to the next meeting. The adopted second-reading policies will be incorporated into district policy manuals per standard procedure.
