Councilors expressed support for continued exploration and asked staff to bring a fuller revenue and expenditure picture to the Budget Committee at the May 28 meeting. No formal decision or agreement was executed at the special session; the discussion was informational and councilors provided direction to continue planning with the district.
The city noted the site currently has several trees and ties to a nearby ballfield; staff said tree removal and staging could be phased to align with planned public works yard clearing.
