Veneta council adopts Resolution 1479 to fix duplicate resolution numbers

The Veneta City Council voted unanimously April 27 to adopt Resolution No. 1479, a housekeeping measure to correct an administrative numbering error. City Recorder Jennifer Mirabile told the council that two separate resolutions had been assigned the same number, 1478, and presented Resolution 1479 to assign a unique number to the city’s social media policy and to affirm the earlier Bolton Hills Sports Complex grant resolution.
"Motion to adopt Resolution No. 1479, A Resolution Adopting a Social Media Policy for the City of Veneta; Repealing Resolution No. 1369; Repealing Resolution No. 1478 Adopted March 9, 2026; and Affirming Resolution No. 1478 adopted April 13, 2026 Authorizing Application for a Grant for Development at the Bolton Hill Sports Complex, as presented," said Councilor Maureen Wright when moving the measure. Councilor Alexa Benson seconded the motion, and the council approved it 4-0.
The action reassigns the social media policy to Resolution 1479, repeals Resolution No. 1369 and the March 9, 2026 version of Res. 1478, and affirms the April 13, 2026 Resolution No. 1478 specific to the Bolton Hills Sports Complex grant so it stands without numbering confusion. The item was presented as a ministerial correction rather than a policy change; no public comment was offered and councilors had no substantive questions before the vote.
The council adjourned the special session at 5:57 p.m.
