Council adopts parking restrictions on West 10th 'A‑Row'

The Alliance City Council on Jan. 20 approved Ordinance No. 3012, a change to Alliance Municipal Code Sec. 26-127 that adds a “no parking” restriction on the north side of West 10th Street (commonly known as A‑Row) between the east line of Buffalo Avenue and the west line of Cody Avenue. The third and final reading was moved by Councilman Hitchcock and seconded by Councilman Yates; the roll call vote was unanimous.
Mayor McGhehey declared the ordinance passed, saying, "the passage and adoption of Ordinance No. 3012 has been concurred by a majority of all members elected to the Council; I declare it passed, adopted and order it published." The ordinance text also lists multiple other restricted- and time-limited parking locations across the city and references state traffic law (R.R.S. 1943, ch. 60) for matters not explicitly covered in the local code.
The amendment will be effective after publication as required by law. City Clerk Ammie L. Bedient read the ordinance by title at the meeting. Council members said the change was procedural and did not record any separate amendment or dissent during the vote.
