The Fillmore City Council unanimously adopted Resolution 26-10 on June 9, amending the city personnel policy to change new-hire probation from three months to two months. Mayor Curt Hare said the intent is "to allow new hires to get onto the city health insurance coverage after 60 days of employment as opposed to 90 days," and Recorder Kevin Orton told the council the city's turnover remains extremely low.
Councilmember Michael Winget moved to adopt the resolution; the roll-call vote was unanimous (Larsen, Winget, Rausch, Alldredge, Stevens). City staff said adoption will change eligibility timing for benefits but no other personnel policy elements were amended during the meeting.
