Nemaha County BOE adopts 2011 levies and approves procedural homestead extensions

On Oct. 12, 2011 the Nemaha County Board of Equalization adopted Resolution 2011-39 to set the county’s 2011 tax levies by motion and roll call. The resolution adoption was recorded in the minutes as "Motion by Hutton, seconded by Bohling to adopt Resolution 2011-39 to set the 2011 levies" and passed unanimously (SEG 083).
Separately, during the July 13 hearings the board approved a procedural motion to allow the assessor to accept homestead exemption applications filed on or before July 20, 2011 without further BOE action and granted one late filing (Dale Quinn). The minutes record the motion to allow the assessor to process timely written extension requests without further board action, clarifying administrative handling of late homestead filings for 2011 (SEG 044–046).
