SR 97 closure and emergency culvert work to affect traffic; paving bid and street sweeping scheduled

Council President Wynn Kearns told the Council that State Route 97 will be closed beginning April 27 for an estimated five days and cautioned about traffic impacts and rerouting that will reduce semitruck traffic through the village. Mayor Bob Jarvis said emergency work is underway at two culverts near Vanderbilt Road as a five-day project with posted detours and that ODOT is working to minimize closure time.
The Streets & Sidewalks committee announced a bid opening for annual paving on May 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Village Hall, and Administrator Peter Them provided the street-sweeping schedule (May 1, July 1, second week in September). Council members were advised to expect temporary reroutes and localized traffic impacts during the closure and culvert repairs.
