Council approves annual agreements with youth baseball/softball and soccer associations

Council adopted Resolution No. 26-11 authorizing use of ball fields at Lexington Community Park by the Lexington Baseball/Softball Association and Resolution No. 26-12 authorizing use of soccer fields at Lexington Patriot Park by the Lexington Soccer Association; proof of insurance for both was on file and both motions passed unanimously.
Councilman Rodney Earick introduced and moved to adopt Resolution No. 26-11 authorizing an agreement with the Lexington Baseball/Softball Association for use of ball fields at Lexington Community Park. Earick said the contract is an annual agreement and that proof of insurance is on file; Council President Wynn Kearns noted the contract allows scheduled games to be played at Community Park. The resolution passed on a roll call vote of 6–0.
Earick then introduced Resolution No. 26-12 authorizing an agreement with the Lexington Soccer Association for use of the soccer fields at Lexington Patriot Park. Council again noted proof of insurance and approved the contract 6–0. Both resolutions were presented as routine annual agreements to allow youth sports play on village fields.
