Councilman Kim Little introduced Ordinance No. 26-10 to accept Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC) 2026 Energized Community Grant and moved to waive rules requiring committee referral and a second reading. Both waivers passed on unanimous roll calls, and council adopted the ordinance on an emergency basis.
During discussion Little said the grant has been used previously for lighting upgrades or window work at the Depot, Village Hall and other village locations and that the village must participate to qualify for the funds. The ordinance was adopted 6–0 and will allow village staff to move forward with NOPEC-related energy improvement projects under the terms of the grant.
