Erin Slusher, co-chair of Lexington’s Farmers Market, told the Village Council that the market will be held at 337 West Main Street in front of the Elks Club and that all vendor permits and the Elks agreement have been submitted to Administrator Peter Them. "Opening date May 20, 2026," Slusher said, and she noted the Planning Commission recommended approval at its March 25, 2026 meeting.
Attorney John Studenmund confirmed the Planning Commission recommendation, and Administrator Peter Them said the supporting paperwork was on file with the village. The council did not take a separate vote during the meeting; the market organizers and village staff appear to have completed the permitting steps needed to proceed. The location and date mean the market will operate in a central downtown location near community facilities, and organizers said they will work with village staff on traffic and vendor placement as the opening approaches.
