Resident urges McKinney ISD to designate Virginia Parkway crossing as hazardous after rezoning

Skarky said she has shared crash and route data by email and cited TxDOT crash reports showing dozens of accidents annually along the stretch; she noted five crashes this year, including one at a crosswalk lacking neighborhood entrances. She urged the board to reclassify the segment as hazardous and to provide bus transportation to protect students.
Ending: Skarky thanked trustees and asked the board to prioritize updating safety criteria; the board indicated staff would review route designations over the next two months but no formal action was taken at the meeting.
