The Calhoun County ISD board unanimously approved a District Certification Transition Plan for school years 2025–2026 through 2029–2030 at its Jan. 20 meeting. The minutes state that districts using a District of Innovation plan to exempt from certain certification requirements face phased limitations under state law, and districts must adopt a transition plan covering the coming academic years.
A motion to approve the plan was made by Dominic Robles and seconded by Dana Dworaczyk; the motion carried 7-0. The minutes say the approved plan will be posted on the district website. The discussion in the minutes references changes tied to House Bill 2 affecting certification authority, but does not quote board members or include the full plan text in the minutes.
