Murphy recognizes Shannon Long as Employee of the Quarter; police chief praises communications leadership

The City Council publicly recognized Shannon Long as the second Employee of the Quarter for fiscal year 2026.
Anisha Sabu, the city's HR manager (S8), announced Long's selection and described the Employee of the Quarter process. "The final selection is made by the city manager's office," Sabu said. The police chief (S9) introduced Long's accomplishments and praised her leadership of the communications center: "Miss Long is an incredible, valuable member to the Murphy Police Department...She leads our communications center and does such a fantastic job."
Council congratulated Long and thanked staff for the nominations process; no council action or budgetary change was associated with the recognition.
