Planning commission denies several Sienna-area plats, approves one final plat in ETJ

During the March 11 meeting staff recommended disapproval of several Sienna-related preliminary plats and the commission voted to deny items 7 C1 through 7 C4 based on the reasons listed in the staff report.

Later the commission considered item 7 C5 (final plat for Reserve at Sienna Ranch Road). Commissioners questioned why construction had started, and staff explained the tract lies in the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ), that the city does not issue building permits in the ETJ, and that plan review and permitting were handled by third-party reviewers and Fort Bend County. After that clarification the motion to approve 7 C5 carried.
