The Midland Planning and Zoning Commission opened its March meeting at 3:30 p.m. and approved a series of preliminary and final plats, plus several zone-change requests, moving multiple large plats to city council for final approval on March 24.
Commissioners approved the consent agenda after removing several items for separate consideration; the meeting’s clerk announced “Motion passed 6 to 0” on the consent items. Among individual approvals, the commission voted to approve a final plat for Llano Estacado Section 4 and a zone change to allow a manufactured-home park on a 35.05-acre tract on North Fairgrounds Road. Staff repeatedly told the commission no objections had been received on many of the requests and recommended approval.
The body also recommended approval of multiple preliminary plats that exceed 25 acres; those plats will go to Midland City Council for final action on March 24. Several commissioners asked routine clarifying questions about future land uses and whether applicants would return for final plats with required drainage and easement details. The meeting adjourned at 4:36 p.m.
