The Redlands Community College Board of Regents approved entering the State Master Lease Program for $2,500,000 to fund construction of a turf soccer field and track during the Jan. 5 meeting. President Jena Marr presented the financing request, noting the amount covers turf and track work only; locker rooms and lighting were not included at this stage. The board voted in favor: Regent Lori Burns moved to approve, Regent Janie Thompson seconded, and the motion passed with votes from Regents Thompson, Von Tungeln, Burns, Cole, Cox and Murray and no opposing votes.
Marr said the loan will be repaid from Section 13 funds. The minutes do not specify a construction timeline, contractor, or additional capital funding sources; those details will need to be provided in subsequent board materials if the project proceeds to procurement and construction.
