Commission gets staff updates; tree-preservation duties moved to Planning and Zoning

Staff said two prior items were approved by City Council and noted that tree-preservation responsibilities are being moved to the Planning and Zoning Commission; the commission will convene as the tree-preservation board at least once a year.
At the end of the meeting staff reported that the Murphy Gardens plat extension and the Full Spectrum replat were approved by City Council. Jared also told the commission that, to balance board duties, the 'Keep Murphy Beautiful' responsibilities moved to Park and Recreation and tree-preservation responsibilities were moved to Planning and Zoning.
Jared said the commission will technically convene as the tree-preservation board at least once a year and staff will provide more information; the commission requested a short synopsis of tree-preservation obligations to help new members. The commission set its next meeting for May 7.
