Midlothian Community Development (MCD) presented its FY2024–25 annual report and asked the council to approve a $500,000 expenditure by the Midlothian Community Development Corporation (MCDC) to support renovation of the Fire Administration building.
MCD emphasized a refreshed brand and communications strategy and said the corporation has invested "over $29,000,000" from 1999–2024 in parks, infrastructure, small‑business support and community projects. The report also cited more than 58,000 attendees at citywide events last year. MCD representatives said the Fire Administration building, built in 1924, will be remodeled to house cultural and community development entities and a museum on the lower floor. Council approved the resolution allocating $500,000 to the city for the renovation 6–0.
