NRC welcomes new member Doug Iske; approves minutes and notes $800,000 water-quality payment

Chair Greg Wilke called the meeting to order and the Commission welcomed new Commissioner Doug Iske. The Commission approved minutes from Sept. 30, 2025; staff reported an $800,000 Water Quality Fund payment is about to be distributed and reminded commissioners of upcoming report/application deadlines and the April 29 meeting.
Chair Greg Wilke called the Nebraska Natural Resources Commission to order at 1:30 p.m. and the Commission welcomed Doug Iske as the Nemaha Basin Representative who was elected at a prior special caucus. The Commission approved the Sept. 30, 2025 minutes on a motion by Commissioner Dierks and seconded by Commissioner Steffen; the motion passed and the minutes were recorded.
Staff reported program updates across multiple funds and said an $800,000 payment from the Natural Resources Water Quality Fund was about to be distributed. Commissioners were reminded that project status reports are due April 1, 2026, the next application window for WSF is March 16–31 and the Commission will meet next on April 29, 2026. The meeting adjourned at 2:16 p.m.
