Supporters urge Lima to adopt nonbinding Convention of States resolution

Brenda Mitchell, who identified herself as a Convention of States Action supporter from Bellefontaine, told council members the packet included a local nonbinding resolution asking Lima to show support for calling a Convention of States under Article V of the U.S. Constitution.
"Passage of this local non binding resolution by Lima City Council will show support for calling a convention of states to debate term limits, fiscal responsibility, and smaller government," Mitchell said. She told the council the group's petition has gathered signatures nationwide and said 121,730 people in Ohio had signed the petition, and she named state-level supporters she said include Senator Susan Manchester and Representative Matt Huffman.
Mitchell framed the request as civic advocacy rather than a legal requirement and asked the council to consider placing its support on record through a nonbinding resolution.
