Middletown swears in Officer James Moretti; police commendations issued for federal support and regional SWAT response

Chief Bottarillo read a biographical summary noting that Moretti is a Bucks County resident, a graduate of Conwell Eagan Catholic High School and Holy Family University (criminal justice), a graduate of the Philadelphia Police Academy, and brings eight years of local police experience and certifications as an accident reconstructionist and commercial motor vehicle inspector.
Chief Bottarillo also presented commendations to Officer Larry Hardy (and K‑9 Blue) and Officer Kevin Eckenrode (and K‑9 Jacks) for their roles supporting a multi‑day, multi‑agency federal operation (March 8–10, 2026) in Middletown and Newtown Townships. He additionally presented a unit citation to members of the South Central Emergency Response Team — including Lieutenant Zachary Brosius, Detectives John Beck and Ryan Morrison, and officers Joshua Andrews, Adam Bailey, Joseph Heller and Melissa Robinson — for their professionalism in a Jan. 26, 2026 barricaded subject incident in Northampton Township that concluded with the subject taken into custody and no further harm to the public or officers.
"Their actions reflect great credit upon themselves, their canine partners, and the entire Middletown Township Police Department," Chief Bottarillo said while presenting individual commendations and the unit award.
