The Rosenberg City Council opened its workshop with a proclamation recognizing May 2026 as Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month. The presiding official read the proclamation, saying the month is intended to “inform riders and motorists alike on motorcycle safety issues to reduce motorcycle related risks, injuries, and most of all fatalities.”
The proclamation, read on behalf of Mayor William Benton, noted that motorcyclists “are roughly unprotected and much more likely to be injured or killed in a crash than other vehicle drivers,” and urged the public to “obey all traffic laws and safety rules” and to treat motorcyclists with the same respect as other vehicles. Council members and a handful of attendees representing local motorcyclists were invited to join the council in observing the month.
