Council adopts nondisclosure direction for council document requests and approves subcommittee rosters
Summary
After a closed executive session, the council directed the town attorney to require nondisclosure agreements for council members’ requests for confidential town documents, and unanimously approved a slate of council subcommittee and charter committee appointments.
Following an executive session, the Prosper Town Council voted unanimously to direct the town attorney that any town information or documentation request from a council member in an official capacity that includes confidential materials not be released without a nondisclosure agreement.
Council member Jeff Hodges moved the directive, stating the motion covered ‘‘town information/documentation requests from a council member in his or her official capacity pursuant to Texas Government Code section 552.403’’ and that confidential information ‘‘shall not be released without a nondisclosure agreement regarding same.’’ The council approved the motion unanimously.
The council also adopted a comprehensive slate of council subcommittee appointments and members (technology, finance, legislative affairs, capital improvements, downtown advisory committee and others) and approved members for a charter review committee as read on the floor. The motions to set subcommittees and appointments passed unanimously; council adjourned after the votes.
