Parks staff reported that spring registration for camps and classes began and that the department’s first spring pickleball tournament at Raymond Community Park drew 32 teams, more than the prior year. Dan Baker said the event showcased new courts and staff received positive public feedback.
On construction, Baker said turf for Raymond Community Park fields has arrived and staff are targeting an August opening for field use; he noted the pavilion construction has been slow due to contractor performance and that a detention pond near a playground required a redesign to address siltation after heavy rains. Staff said they will continue to monitor contractors and finish landscaping and sod installation as weather permits.
