Parks staff presented two contractor quotes for additional perimeter fencing at Raymond Community Park: a functional 6-foot vinyl-coated chain-link option priced at $153,000 and a town-standard aluminum-look upgrade priced at $312,011. Dan Becker, the parks director, told the board the local soccer organization offered to pay the chain-link baseline but the capital improvement subcommittee preferred the higher-standard fence. "The staff recommendation is for the town to cover everything in excess of the $153,000," Becker said.
Board members discussed logistics including maintenance beams, openings for equipment and whether gates were necessary. Bob Benson moved the staff recommendation and Carrie Castro seconded; the motion passed on a voice vote. Staff said installation is projected to be complete by August in time for fall seasons, and will include replacement of some sod as part of the work.
