The presentation said FEMA awarded the city $2,853,780.30 in HMGP funds for the project and that the city's 10% match is estimated at $285,378.03.
Council sought and received clarification that the 10% local match would be paid from the water/wastewater fund rather than the general fund. Members expressed support for generators to maintain pump operations during power outages and to reduce overtime and sanitary overflow risks. The council approved the resolution by voice vote (6 to 1 absent).
