"The intent of this future collector road designation is to extend Cecil Rabinowitz Road south of US Highway 98," staff said, adding that Union Pacific has stated desires to abandon part of that alignment for rail‑served development.
Council discussed connectivity, nearby Scott Road and Mugier Road, and the practical effect of the removal; several members said the change did not create significant access issues and that approving the amendment aligns with the planning commission recommendation. The council moved and passed the amendment; staff said a resolution to adopt the MTP change will be brought forward on a future agenda for formal adoption.
