Morgan, speaking for staff, introduced Stephanie Scott Sim as the new planning manager who will take over for Reagan and said there will be no June meeting due to a lack of submissions. Morgan also announced they will be leaving the city in July.
On the HEB development, staff said there is not yet an official opening date because final contractor handover and interior permitting remain outstanding; the developer is pursuing a temporary certificate of occupancy to allow placement of products inside the store before full completion. Morgan noted traffic work associated with the site — including a traffic signal on 544 and a south-turn lane — remains pending with TxDOT.
Separately, staff reported bids opened for the Timber/Runner Road intersection project near Murphy Road; the plan includes shifting the travel lane north, installing bollards and landscape features to reduce the risk of vehicles striking a nearby house, and direct communication with the HOA and affected residents before construction begins (anticipated this summer).
