Council reviewed and approved Resolution R‑40‑45 authorizing an interlocal agreement with Fort Bend County for the Alta Vista Senior Center and Park. Staff said the county will use 16 acres of city‑owned land to build and operate the senior facility; the city will retain ownership of the 16 acres and create a 3.72‑acre commercial parcel on the corner of Benton and Ricefield roads.
According to staff, the project is included in the 2023 Fort Bend County Parks Bond and in the city's FY2025 capital improvement plan. Staff recommended approval and noted the county will secure water and sanitary sewer services through Fort Bend County Municipal Utility Districts; the city will pay monthly utility charges for the 3.72‑acre commercial parcel if developed. Council voted to approve the interlocal agreement.
