The board considered and approved a Texas Education Agency low-attendance day waiver for Neeby Williams Elementary School after administrators reported a significant absence event on Jan. 20, 2026. The TEA allows a campus to request that days be excused from average daily attendance and Foundation School Program funding calculations when attendance is at least 10 percentage points below the prior year due to inclement weather, health, or safety reasons; administrators said Neeby Williams met that threshold.
"On 01/20/2026, there was a large number of absences due to illnesses," a district presenter said, noting attendance at the campus was more than 10 percentage points below the previous year’s rate. The board approved the recommended waiver as presented.
