Trustees approve promotion of Patrick Just to chief safety and security officer

The board voted to promote Patrick Just to the newly titled chief safety and security officer, a cabinet-level appointment described as responsible for district safety, security and emergency preparedness and for ensuring compliance with state safety requirements.
In the recommendation, administrators cited Mr. Just’s 32 years in public education and experience overseeing student services, campus administration support, school resource officer coordination, counseling and emergency preparedness. After the vote Mr. Just addressed the board: "I am truly honored and thankful for this opportunity to serve Rockwall ISD in our community as the chief safety and security officer," he said, noting partnerships with local law enforcement and support from principals and staff.
The motion passed on a board voice/hand-raise vote and the board congratulated Mr. Just.
