Applicant Mark Webb said the delay was on the developer’s side but noted a potential cost savings if the commission removed a previously approved left-turn lane on Betsy Lane. "There’s a possibility we could probably eliminate that left turn lane, which is give or take $200,000 in cost," Webb said. Staff cautioned that removing the improvement could require reopening zoning or a new construction-plat approval, and committed to research whether the left-turn lane was a condition written into the original approval. The commission voted to grant the developer an additional year to proceed with permitting and construction.
